Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

HCS SB 712 -- CONVEYANCES OF PROPERTY

SPONSOR: Scott (Bruns)

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Corrections and Public Institutions by a vote of 8 to 0.

This substitute authorizes the Governor to convey state property
located in Pettis, St. Louis, Cole, Lincoln, Greene, St.
Francois, Jackson, and Stoddard counties.

The substitute contains an emergency clause.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2007, FY 2008, and
FY 2009.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill gives a clear title to
a piece of property conveyed to the Girl Scouts in 1965. The
original conveyance contained a reversionary clause. The Girl
Scouts are committed to the property and have a plan for
improvements.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Jones (117); and
Pamela Hendrickson, Girl Scouts, Heart of Missouri Council.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
